How Subsurface Irrigation Really Works

Netafim Techline has established a proven track record in every application that overhead sprinklers have been used. In fact, irrigation professionals agree that Netafim's Techline is more effective than sprinklers in hard-to-irrigate "problem" areas, including shrub and bedding plant areas, median strips, parking lot islands and high traffic turf areas.

Netafim Techline is the most efficient irrigation product in the world today because it combines the water-saving features of pressure compensating drippers, continuous self-flushing of drippers and check valves.

Applications

Irrigation professionals agree that Netafim Techline is more effective than sprinklers in hard-to-irrigate "problem" areas, including:
  • Shrub or bedding plant areas
  • Median strips
  • Odd shaped areas
  • High traffic or liability areas
  • Where sprinklers create a slipping or tripping hazard
  • Steep slopes
  • Parking lot islands
  • At grade windows
  • Interiorscapeplantings
  • High wind areas

Techline

Techline pressure-compensating drippers are fully self-contained units molded to the interior wall of the dripper tubing itself. Both the tubing and the dripper housing are manufactured from high quality polyethelene to withstand chemicals and fertilizers.

While other products can only be placed on top of the ground, Techline are state-of-the-art and can be buried. That means they can be used on top of the ground for gardens or buried under lawn, turf or gardens.

 Dripper Operation

The Techline pressure compensating dripper is a fully self-contained unit molded to the interior wall of the dripper tubing itself. Both the tubing and the dripper housing are manufactured from high quality synthetic elastomers to withstand chemicals and fertilizers. As shown here, in the 4 step sequence, Techline is continuously self-cleaning during operation, not just at the beginning and end of a cycle. The result is dependable, clog-free operation, year after year.

1. Regulating Mode

Water flows freely along the center of the tubing, keeping debris out of the dripper itself. Techline's exclusive diaphragm and labyrinth design ensures a consistent flow rate.

2. Initiation of Flushing Cycle

Particles create back pressure and push back the diaphragm to initiate the flush cycle.

3. Flushing Cycle

Diaphragm flexes and any particles are washed out of the regulating chamber.

4. Regulating Mode

After flushing, Techline automatically resumes its regulating mode.
